Buying a Shed OnlineMany people are finding it to be cheaper to buy sheds and storage buildings online. If you do your homework and ask the right questions, buying a shed online can be a good experience. Here is a brief guide to help you in your decision to buy online.
- Choosing a Shed. Decide which shed meets your needs. There are many factors to consider such as size, price, type of material, and which options you should choose. The main types of shed kits are metal, vinyl, and plastic. Wood and Cedar kits are also available although these are more expensive.
- Foundation Kits. Some sheds come with a foundation kit, but most manufacturers recommend adding a foundation kit for those sheds that don't have one included with the shed. This will elevate your shed off the ground, help your shed stay square and increase stability of the structure. It also allows you to lay down a nice plywood floor. The plywood is typically not included in the kit.
- Anchor Kits - Consider an Anchor Kit. Once you have a foundation kit you may still want to consider adding an anchor kit to anchor the shed into the ground for further stability. There are concrete anchor kits if you have a concrete pad and corkscrew type anchor kits for securing into the earth.
- Shipping and Delivery - many people are confused about shipping and delivery. Shed kits are delivered via Truck Freight. These typically come in several boxes tied down to a pallet. The carrier will typically call to arrange a delivery day and it is best to have at least two people available to lift the shed off the truck. In some cases depending on your area, an exact time will be set. In others a delivery window will be specified. Please call us if you have questions about delivery.
- Returns - On occassion damage will occur during shipment. Simply refuse shipment if this occurs. If the driver has left the shed kit while you were away please call us to arrange for a return.
