Is a hybrid a good thing or a bad thing ?
The Toyota Prius and the Ford Fusion, hybrids both, are undoubtedly good things. The conversion from fossil fuels to alternative energy models can only be regarded as a positive element for combating the ensuing impact of global warming.
On the other hand, the proto beast-humans that Dr. Moreau of H.G. Wells fame was cooking up on his island retreat are undoubtedly bad things. Any creature that has to be reminded to walk only on its hind legs probably has some latent issues.
So, with the score of good hybrids to bad hybrids locked at 1 to 1, we will offer a tie breaker.
We have added two hybrid storage sheds to our lineup and we are very excited about both of these hybrid wood and plastic sheds.
The Suncast Upright Wood and Plastic Shed is conveniently sized at 54"W x 30"D x 75.5"H. A rugged plastic floor and roof are combined with cedar walls and an enormous 39" x 70" cedar double door opening to create both a durable and handsome storage shed.
Likewise, the Suncast Hybrid Wood and Plastic Shed is a spacious 7'10"W x 7'10"D x 8'6"H. This full-sized storage shed has a plastic floor and roof with enormous plastic double doors. The cedar wood walls contain two windows and an air vent under the roofline. This is a very spacious and pragmatic storage shed.
We believe that the benefits of a hybrid storage shed are three-fold, as follows:
- First, it is the floor, roof and doors that take the brunt of the hard use for a storage shed. Whether it be the elements, the constant coming and going of those who use the shed or just the numerous fender benders between shed and machine, plastic can generally take more abuse than wood;
- Second, nothing looks as sharp in your backyard or commercial lot as a wooden structure. Wood simply lends itself to cosmetic tinkering much moreso than either plastic shed, vinyl shed or metal shed walls; and.
- Third, wood provides you with a very flexible surface upon which you can personalize your storage shed by perhaps hanging flower boxes under the windows or building shelves inside the shed itself.
Hybrid storage sheds will not be the answer for everybody, of course. But we do believe that hybrid wood and plastic sheds can be an important element for your decision making process when choosing the perfect storage shed for your particular needs.
